Installing a 2000 Watt Inverter

Document Actions

In January of 2006 we purchased and installed a 2000 watt inverter so that we could power our new (and small) microwave oven. The new inverter, pictured far right, is installed under our trailer next to our batteries and charge controller. The inverter converts power that is produced by the solar panels from DC (direct current) to AC (alternating current). While we can utilize DC power directly in some cases, AC power is required for the operation of most household appliances.
